Duguna Fango is an eastern district of the Wolaita Zone, bordered partly by the Bilate River. Its administrative seat, Bitena, is a vibrant town known for its trade connections to the Sidama region. The Woreda is characterized by a mix of highland farming and lowland pastoralist activities, presenting unique opportunities and challenges for the local educational system.

The Duguna Fango Woreda Education Office is prioritizing the modernization of school facilities in Bitena and increasing primary school access in the more remote lowland areas to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all children.
